History of Reading News. Vol.XXI No.1 (1997:Fall)

We would like to pay tribute to the extraordinary contributions of our long-time SIG member, Sam Weintraub of the University of Buffalo-SUNY. Since the retirement of Helen M. Robinson, Sam has been the senior author of the IRA's Annual Summary of Investigations Relating to Reading. Now, 72 years after it was first published by William S. Gray, the Summary has had its last issue. It always included summaries of historical research, at a time when few reading experts were interested in such research.

On behalf of the SIG, we thank Weintraub for a job marvelously well done.
